Registration in second year

The registration procedure depends on the students' country of origin and situation:

  • Students residing in one of the 72 countries and territories covered by the “Études en France” procedure must submit a specific application to register at a higher education institution in France via the platform.
  • Students enrolled at the University of Lille should contact their academic office.
  • Other students must apply directly to the university.

If you are unsure, we strongly recommend that you read the instructions describing the procedure for applying to a higher education institution in France.

Prerequisites and required documents

Admission to the second year of the master's program is reserved for students who have completed the first year of a master's program or the fourth year of higher education in fundamental physics, physical chemistry, or an equivalent field, which must be proven.

Admission to the second year of the master's program for candidates from outside the University of Lille is subject to review of the candidate's application, which must:

  • Include a detailed curriculum vitae (CV) that allows for an assessment of the objectives and skills targeted by previous training and experience;
  • Prove mastery of the training courses taken by providing transcripts;
  • Justify their motivation by providing a letter of motivation. The letter of motivation must be limited to one page, be personal, well-argued, and tailored to the program applied for. Documents generated using artificial intelligence are easily detectable and will result in the application being rejected;
  • Provide the employment or internship certificates indicated in the curriculum vitae.

Applicants already enrolled in the first year of the Master's in Physics at the University of Lille simply need to validate their first year. There is no application to submit.

Students already registered at Université de Lille

Students already enrolled at the University of Lille for their first year of a master's degree in physics must validate their first year of the master's program and contact their academic office.

If you change your course between the first and second year, enrollment will be subject to acceptance of your application by the person responsible for the second-year course. In this case, please contact the person in charge before the end of June so that we can review your situation.

Other students

If your situation does not correspond to any of the cases listed above, you must contact the university directly via the University of Lille registration platform.

If your application is accepted, you will receive a document confirming your admission. Once you have received this document, you can begin the process of applying for a visa at the French Consulate in your country of residence. You should apply for a student visa.

Please note: do not apply directly on the University of Lille platform if you are involved in the “Etudes en France” procedure or the “MonMaster” platform. We will not be able to accept your application!
